Having walked all along the ridge from Grisedale Tarn, I’d hoped to get to Clough Head and complete the whole ridge in one day. I ran out of day and stamina and with a darkening sky approaching, investigated this spot. Just as I decided to stop here, the heavens opened, and I spent the first half hour of the camp cowering in the tent as rain hammered down and rumbles of thunder sounded overhead. After that it was fine, and I looked out to see these thin strands of cloud passing over. A nice sunrise in the morning too.
