A long day’s walking from the previous night’s camp on Fan Fawr (no relation), a gruelling climb up and over a brackeny hill and the final ascent alongside the stream that flows down from the Llyn meant I was really glad to arrive here. Only as I drew close did I start thinking about whether there would be others here. Luckily there was only one tent and that was tucked away at the far end right under Fan Brycheniog. I found a place to the east of the llyn out of sight of the other tent that still enabled me to see the llyn itself and be positioned for sunrise. Apart from an accident where I spilt molten wax all over the tent, this was a lovely night’s camp and there was a special sunrise looking east to Pen y Fan.
